GTA Online's Independence Day week is back, and if you've been saving up, this is the kind of event that makes GTA 5 Money feel worth chasing. From July 2 through July 8, Rockstar is leaning hard into the holiday mood with bonus payouts, returning patriotic gear, and a stack of discounts that can change the way you spend your cash. It's the sort of week where even casual players start checking the stores a bit more closely.
Patriotic gear and old favouritesThe first thing most players notice is the holiday stock. The usual Independence Day cosmetics are back, so you can grab the themed clothing, face paint, vehicle liveries, parachute designs, tire smoke, and horn upgrades before they disappear again. The Western Sovereign motorcycle and the Vapid Liberator are also back on sale, which matters a lot if you like collecting seasonal rides. These vehicles do not stick around for long, and plenty of players only remember them once they are already gone.
Big discounts on the expensive stuffThis event is not just about red, white, and blue outfits. Rockstar has cut prices on a lot of the heavy hitters too. Aircraft discounts are one of the main draws, especially for players who like free roam dogfights or quick mission travel. On top of that, Agencies, Hangars, Bunkers, Mobile Operations Centers, and Terrorbytes are all part of the sale. If you have been waiting to set up a proper money-making route, this is a pretty good moment to do it without burning through everything you have.
Better payouts across the boardThere are also boosted GTA$ and RP rewards tied to selected races, featured jobs, and business missions. That means you can jump between grinding and messing around without feeling like you are wasting time. A lot of players use weeks like this to build a loop: buy the discounted property first, then run the bonus missions until the next upgrade starts to make sense. It is simple, but it works. And in GTA Online, simple usually beats clever.
Free rewards and the last callLogging in during the event should hand out some free patriotic clothing, and extra rewards can be earned through Business Battles and other featured activities. The Firework Launcher is back in Ammu-Nation and through the Gun Van, which is always a fun excuse to cause a little chaos in the streets. If you want the seasonal items, don't wait too long. Once the week is over, most of it vanishes, and you'll be stuck waiting for next July unless you manage to buy GTA 5 Money and push your progress forward while the discounts are still live.

Players watching every scrap of Modern Warfare 4 footage have been quick to spot familiar shapes, and one of the loudest talking points is the return of the Bryson 800 through Modern Warfare 4 Boosting chatter and gameplay clips. It is the kind of gun that makes people stop mid-match, because even a tiny glimpse of it usually means close-range trouble. In the new DMZ 2.0 setup, that matters a lot. If the shotgun keeps its old punch, then the first few seconds of a fight could decide everything.
Why players are paying attentionThe biggest thing here is not just that the Bryson 800 is back. It is how the weapon fits into the kind of fights DMZ players actually run into. A lot of people push buildings, clear stairwells, or sprint into tight rooms without much room to breathe. That is where this shotgun shines. One clean hit can drop someone before they even react, and that changes the mood of an entire lobby. If you like aggressive play, you probably already know what that means.
There is also the business side of it, and players do notice that stuff. The Bryson 800 has been attached to cosmetics that sold well, which makes it hard to imagine the developers wiping out its identity overnight. From a community angle, that feels less like a balance accident and more like a weapon that is meant to stay dangerous. People may complain about it, sure, but they still use it, and that keeps it in the conversation every time a new season or mode shows up.
That tension is what makes the Bryson 800 such a big topic. Some squads will build their whole run around finding ways to shut it down. Others will carry it themselves and play the corners hard. Either way, the shotgun shapes the pace of the fight. You can feel that before the first shot even lands.
What it means when the drop goes liveWhen Modern Warfare 4 and DMZ 2.0 fully open up, the Bryson 800 will probably do what it has always done: force players to think twice before rushing in blind. That is why so many people keep an eye on it. For some, it will be the weapon they trust most in a panic. For others, it will be the thing they dread seeing around a doorway.
Defense wins championships, and in College Football 26, that statement couldn't be more accurate. While many players constantly cycle through dozens of different coverages hoping to confuse opponents, the best players in the game take a completely different approach. Instead of relying on complexity, they focus on mastering a small set of defensive concepts that consistently produce results.
Top-ranked players aren't running random blitzes or switching coverages every snap. They've learned that a handful of elite defensive plays can handle nearly every situation they'll face. By understanding when to call these defenses and how to properly adjust them, you can dramatically improve your ability to stop both casual and competitive opponents.
Goal Line Defense That Stops Everything
One of the most frustrating situations in College Football 26 Coins occurs when your opponent is inches away from the end zone. Many players assume a quarterback sneak is nearly impossible to stop, especially when the ball is already inside the one-yard line.
Fortunately, there is a simple solution.
The answer lies in the Goal Line 5-3 formation, available in virtually every defensive playbook. While several plays work from this set, Goal Line Man is often the preferred choice.
The setup is straightforward:
Pinch the defensive line
Slant the defensive line inside
User a linebacker or safety responsible for outside containment
These adjustments create immediate penetration up the middle, making quarterback sneaks extremely difficult to execute. The defensive line collapses the interior gaps before the quarterback can gain momentum, often resulting in tackles for loss.
This setup is also effective against Power O runs and other short-yardage concepts because the interior defenders attack downhill immediately.
Dominating Third and Fourth-and-Long Situations
Few things are more frustrating than forcing a fourth-and-23 only to watch your opponent convert for a first down.
Many players make a critical mistake in these situations by calling Cover Zero and sending heavy pressure. While aggressive, this strategy often leaves underneath routes wide open and allows easy yards after the catch.
Instead, elite defenders focus on three key principles.
Step 1: Guess Pass
Whenever facing third or fourth and long, use the Guess Pass adjustment.
This improves defensive line pass-rush behavior and helps defenders get off blocks more effectively. While it doesn't guarantee instant pressure, it increases the likelihood of disrupting the quarterback before routes fully develop.
Step 2: Set Zone Drops Properly
Zone drops are one of the most important defensive tools in College Football 26.
For example, if the offense needs 23 yards:
Set Flats to 25 yards
Set Hooks to 25 yards
This forces receivers to catch the ball underneath your coverage rather than beyond the sticks.
Step 3: Protect the Seam
Whether you're running Tampa 2 or Cover 3, the seam route remains the primary threat.
Immediately after the snap, user the seam area and remove the quick throw option. Once the seam is eliminated, position yourself around the first-down marker and force the offense to make difficult throws into tight windows.
By combining pass guesses, proper zone drops, and disciplined user coverage, you'll dramatically improve your ability to stop long-yardage situations.
Always Create Pressure with Stunts
One of the biggest mistakes players make is allowing their defensive line to rush naturally every snap.
A standard four-man rush often gives quarterbacks too much time to scan the field.
Instead, elite players constantly incorporate stunts and line movement.
The Pirate Three-Man stunt has become one of the most effective pass-rush adjustments in the game. Pairing this stunt with a contain assignment creates confusion for offensive linemen and generates more consistent pressure.
The benefits include:
Better pocket collapse
More pass-rush angles
Increased chance of quick sheds
Improved containment against mobile quarterbacks
Even when the stunt doesn't immediately produce a sack, it forces offensive lines to communicate and adjust, creating opportunities later in the drive.
When Pirate isn't available, the Tom Two-Man stunt serves as an excellent alternative.
The key takeaway is simple: never settle for a basic rush when you can create pressure through movement.
Cover 3 Cloud: The Ultimate Base Defense
If there is one coverage every player should learn, it's Cover 3 Cloud.
This defensive call appears in nearly every playbook and offers one of the most balanced coverage structures in the game.
Traditional Cover 3 defenses can be vulnerable along the weak-side seam. Cover 3 Cloud helps address that weakness by assigning deeper responsibility to one side of the field.
To maximize effectiveness:
Set flat zone drops to 10 yards
User the seam opposite the middle-third defender
Combine the coverage with defensive-line stunts
This creates a hybrid look that protects both underneath and vertical routes while maintaining strong run support.
Many competitive players consider Cover 3 Cloud the foundation of their entire defensive scheme because it remains effective against a wide variety of offensive concepts.
Red Zone Tampa 2: The Perfect Bend-But-Don't-Break Defense
Defending inside the red zone requires a completely different mindset.
When the offense reaches the 10-yard line, field space becomes compressed, and route combinations change dramatically.
The solution is Tampa 2 with customized zone drops.
A simple rule can guide every red-zone situation:
Match your flats and hooks to the offense's distance from the goal line.
Examples:
Ball on the 7-yard line = Flats 5, Hooks 5
Ball on the 8-yard line = Flats 10, Hooks 10
Ball on the 14-yard line = Flats 15, Hooks 15
Next, place both safeties into Inside Quarter assignments to strengthen seam protection.
As the user defender, focus on:
Defending quick seam routes first
Monitoring back-corner throws
Forcing underneath completions
This strategy forces offenses to settle for short gains rather than easy touchdowns.
The Surprise Coverage Package
Sometimes the best defense is one your opponent has never seen before.
A unique adjustment out of Cover 2 Man allows you to flood the field with coverage defenders while rushing only two players.
The setup includes:
Usering a deep safety
Spreading the defensive line
Placing one defensive lineman into a hard flat
Assigning another defensive lineman as a QB spy
This creates a coverage-heavy shell designed to frustrate pass-happy opponents.
While experienced players can eventually identify weaknesses, many opponents struggle to find openings against so many defenders in coverage.
Because it is unconventional, this defense works best as a change-up rather than a primary strategy.
Using it once or twice per game can generate confusion, force mistakes, and occasionally create turnovers.
Simplicity Wins Games
Perhaps the most important lesson from elite defensive players isn't a specific play call at all.
It's understanding assignments.
Many players lose games because they constantly experiment with coverages they don't fully understand. They run match coverage without knowing match principles. They call Cover Zero without understanding leverage. They blitz defenders who have little chance of reaching the quarterback.
The best defenders simplify everything.
They know:
Where every defender is supposed to be
Which routes each coverage is designed to stop
How their adjustments affect the defense
What their user responsibility is on every snap
By mastering a small collection of reliable defensive calls rather than memorizing an entire playbook, players develop consistency and confidence.
Final Thoughts
The strongest defenses in College Football 26 aren't built on complexity. They're built on execution.
Mastering Goal Line 5-3, long-yardage zone defense, defensive-line stunts, Cover 3 Cloud, Tampa 2 red-zone coverage, and a few strategic change-ups can transform your defense from a liability into a strength College Football 26 Coins for sale.
Instead of searching for a new coverage every drive, focus on understanding these core concepts. Learn the adjustments, practice the user responsibilities, and recognize the situations where each defense excels.
Do that consistently, and you'll discover why the top players in College Football 26 continue relying on the same proven defensive tools game after game.

The Manhattan is one of the most popular whiskey cocktails, and has been enjoyed for over a century. The earliest known printed recipe for the Manhattan was published in O. H. Byron's 1884 Modern Bartenders' Guide. The book cites two versions: one made with French vermouth, the other with Italian. The drink is traditionally made with rye whiskey, but some bartenders prefer to use bourbon.

The Manhattan is whiskey-forward, with the vermouth adding smooth, spiced sweetness and the bitters adding a little punch. As with the gin martini, there are many ways that you can adapt this classic recipe to your personal taste. It has also inspired countless variations, but before you give those a taste, it's best to start off with the original.

Ingredients

4 ounces rye whiskey
2 ounces sweet vermouth
4 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: 2 Maraschino cherries

Directions

Pour the whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters into a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until outside of shaker is very cold to touch.
Place a maraschino cherry in each of two chilled cocktail glasses. Dividing evenly, strain the contents of the shaker over cherries and serve immediately.

Special Equipment
Mixing glass, cocktail strainer

Once you have those, you’ll be sipping a great Manhattan cocktail in no time. Manhattans should always be stirred, not shaken, so you don’t even need to bust out the cocktail shaker for these. Cheers!

Sustainable FabricsWhen purchasing an outfit, we know we’re making much more than a fashion statement. For better or for worse, we’re also making an environmental impact. That’s why, when it comes to clothing and fabric, we believe in quality over quantity. And what better way to prioritise quality – and the environment – than by choosing sustainable textiles and eco-friendly fabric?
Sustainable fabrics offer loads of benefits for the planet, your wardrobe, and even your bank account. We’re going to dive into questions like “what are sustainable fabrics?” and “is cotton biodegradable?” But first, let’s discuss what sustainable fabric really is.
Because it uses a lot of water, pesticides, and takes up land which could otherwise be used for crops, cotton is not often considered as sustainable. That is, unless it’s organic cotton! Organic and sustainable cotton is a very in-demand fabric choice when it comes to ethical shopping. It’s grown and manufactured in a way that minimizes the environmental impact and supports livelihoods and communities.
Is cotton biodegradable? Yes! Since it’s a natural fabric, this sustainable textile is completely biodegradable.
Another sought-after sustainable clothing material is viscose, but again, this depends on how it’s made!
Viscose is a semi-synthetic type of rayon fabric made from wood pulp and is often used as a substitute for silk. Viscose such as Lyocell, Tencel, Modal, and Refibra are made from sustainable forests and have a much kinder chemical process which doesn’t use nasty chemicals. The process to make Lyocell is actually completely waste-free, for example, as every biproduct is recycled in some way. This sustainable material is absorbent, lightweight, breathable, and soft.
Is viscose biodegradable? Yes, it is! While viscose is not the eco-friendliest material out there, it’s a great biodegradable fabric compared to acrylic, nylon, and polyester.
Sustainable fashion materials are very durable and built to last, making them easy to care for! There should be no issue using a machine to wash your sustainable items, but always be sure to check the tags to be on the safe side. Unless the tags say otherwise, opt for a mild detergent when cleaning your clothes. And, if you want to give your garments a special treatment, try Ultimate Care Fresh Skies.
Fabric conditioner is also sustainable as it helps keep your clothes like new – reducing the need to replace them! Added in the final stage of the washing process, Comfort coats the fibres of your clothes and helps to keep them soft, smelling great, and able to retain their shape and colour. It helps to keep them from bobbling and makes them easy to iron, and with less static. Not only will you be taking extra care of your clothes with this 100% recycled fabric conditioner, but you’ll also be taking extra care of the environment.
Now that you have a better understanding of what it means to shop for sustainable fabric, you can make more informed, mindful decisions when buying clothes. Whether it be asking “is viscose biodegradable?” or figuring out what certifications to look for on a tag, you’re already one step closer to improving your wardrobe and our beautiful blue planet.
What is Stretch Fabric?Summer is now rapidly approaching, and all around us, we see the reemergence of outdoor activity. The beaches are becoming more crowded and public pools have shed their winter tarps. While stores have begun to line their shelves with the newest swimwear fashion. But, whether you know it or not, those swimsuits wouldn’t be nearly as stylish or practical without one important material, stretch fabrics. Stretch fabrics can actually be found throughout your everyday life, often allowing you to go about your day in comfort. While stretch fabrics are an important piece of your life, they tend to go overlooked. So instead, let’s dive into a deeper understanding of just what goes into this special fabric, and why it all matters.
In the 1960s, DuPont, a chemical company, developed a new process for manufacturing fabrics that could stretch without damaging its structural integrity. What DuPont created was stretch knit fabrics, a malleable yet durable fabric that could easily be distorted, only to return to its original form. Where stretch fabrics differ from woven fabrics is the knit pattern that uses interlaced loops, compared to the grid pattern of fibers that can be found in woven materials.
This new innovation was originally exclusively used in producing swimwear and women’s bras. However, its knit designed, coupled with naturally elastic fibers, made stretch knit the fabric of choice for many athletes. In the mid-1980s, a major shift occurred when designers began to incorporate stretch fabrics into mainstream fashion. Today, you can still find stretch fabrics in swimwear as well as countless other products, everything from leotards to blue jeans. If you go for a run, chances are your entire outfit is made from stretch fabrics, even your running shoes. If you’re relaxing at home in your jeans and sweatshirt, there are actually stretch fibers in those items too.
Oxford ClothOxford cloth is a very popular shirting fabric, particularly for more casual or sporty styles of dress shirts. It’s a bit thicker than what we’d consider “fine” dress shirt fabrics, and has a hearty feel that is both durable and naturally resistant to wrinkles. Oxford cloths can be found in a variety of qualities.

40/1×24/2: This is the classic heavier weight oxford cloth. These are generally much thicker than the average shirt fabric. Make for really great casual shirts. They are very durable and can be washed/dried with your socks and t-shirts and worn a bit wrinkly. A good one will be quite soft to the touch and get better with age.

80s two-ply: This is the classic pinpoint oxford cloth. It’s a nice quality oxford cloth weave with a dense enough texture that works well for conservative business settings. Thicker than broadcloth and relatively opaque, this is the classic Brooks Brothers style shirt.

75/2×38/3: This construction comes from Thomas Mason and is what we like to call a “premium oxford”. It has a similar thickness and heartiness to the basic heavy oxford, but it is simultaneously a bit smoother and more refined. The result is a shirt that looks great a bit rumpled casually, but can also be ironed up sharp for a slick suited look.

50s single-ply: A crisp but lighter weight oxford. Can usually be found in interesting patterns or colors. In appropriate patterns these can make for great business shirts or relatively sharp casual shirts.

Overall, a nice casual oxford cloth shirt is a wardrobe essential for its durability and versatility. Pair it with a button down collar for the low-maintenance OCBD.
Good Fiber, Bad FiberFiber can influence many aspects of health.
From gut bacteria to weight loss, it is often considered a fundamental part of a healthy diet.
Most people have a very basic understanding of fiber, and tend to lump it all into one category.
However, the truth is that not all fiber is created equal.
Some types are highly beneficial, while others can cause digestive problems in some people.
This article explains everything you need to know about the different types of fiber.
What is Fiber and How is it Classified?
“Fiber” refers to a diverse group of carbohydrates that humans can not digest.
We lack the digestive enzymes required to break them down, so they pass through most of the digestive system unchanged.
The recommended intake is 38 grams for men, and 25 grams for women. However, most people are only eating around half of that, or 15-17 grams per day.
Fiber is mostly found in plant foods, including vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds.
What is fiber?Fiber is a blanket term that applies to any type of carbohydrate that your body can’t digest. The fact your body doesn’t use fiber for fuel doesn’t make it less valuable to your overall health.
Dietary fiber can offer the following benefits when you consume it:

Reducing cholesterol. Fiber’s presence in the digestive tract can help reduce the body’s cholesterol absorption. This is especially true if you take statins, which are medications to lower cholesterol, and use fiber supplements like psyllium fiber.

Promoting a healthy weight. High fiber foods like fruits and vegetables tend to be lower in calories. Also, fiber’s presence can slow digestion in the stomach to help you feel fuller for longer.

Adding bulk to the digestive tract. Those who struggle with constipation or a generally sluggish digestive tract may wish to add fiber to their diet. Fiber naturally adds bulk to the digestive tract, as your body doesn’t digest it. This stimulates the intestines.

Promoting blood sugar control. It can take your body longer to break down high fiber foods. This helps you maintain more consistent blood sugar levels, which is especially helpful for those with diabetes.

Reducing gastrointestinal cancer risk. Eating enough fiber can have protective effects against certain cancer types, including colon cancer. There are many reasons for this, including that some types of fiber, such as the pectin in apples, may have antioxidant-like properties.

Fiber offers many health benefits, but it’s important to incorporate fiber-containing foods gradually over the course of a few days to avoid adverse effects, such as bloating and gas.
Drinking plenty of water while you up your fiber intake may also help keep these symptoms at bay.

What Is An Intermediate Bulk Container?Industrial Grade Reusable ContainersAn intermediate bulk container (or IBC) is a pallet mounted, industrial grade reusable container that is used for storing and transporting bulk liquids and powders. Also known as a tote, the IBC is capable of stacking and can be moved by a pallet jack or forklift.
The three broad types of IBCs in use today can be categorized under rigid, folding and flexible. The term ‘intermediate’ comes from the volume that intermediate bulk containers carry, which sits in between that of tanks and drums. The two most common volumes of the rigid IBC are 275 gallons and 330 gallons.
Common Uses
IBCs are used for the transport and storage of:

Chemicals

Solvents

Pharmaceuticals

Liquids

Food ingredients

Sand

Grains

Intermediate bulk containers have all also been used in unique areas such as aquaponics, general bulk storage, and the collecting of rainwater for drinking or harvesting.
This depends on many factors including whether the IBC will be reused or not, the durability needed and legal requirements. In the case of cube shaped rigid IBCs, the inner containers are often made from a plastic such as polyethylene or high density polyethylene (HDPE). They are also available in other materials such as aluminum or galvanized iron. TranPak’s IBCs are made of HDPE. The rigid outer container or cage is usually made from galvanized tubular steel or iron. Folding IBCs don’t have a rigid outer cage and are made of very durable plastic that folds inward when empty. Flexible IBCs or bulk bags are made from various heavy duty materials such as woven polypropylene or polyethylene.IBCs are a very cost effective way to safely move a variety of products from point A to point B.
Cube shaped rigid IBCs often have a standard footprint of 48″x40″ which enables easy shipping, conveying and transport due to it being a common pallet size in North America and other countries.
There is a tap or valve at the base where a hose can be attached to allow easy transfer of contents into smaller containers for easy packaging, distribution and sale in your target location. This is important when certain packaging and legal requirements need to be ensured locally.
Cube shaped rigid IBCs can be stacked for optimal use of space during shipping and storage. Both folding and flexible IBCs use even less space once empty on return journeys which is a bonus however they are not suitable for all kinds of substances. Nor are they as durable as a rigid intermediate bulk container. IBCs are more effective than round tanks as more of them can occupy the same space.IBC HeatersStoring your materials in IBCs (Intermediate Bulk Containers) has a number of advantages compared to drums and other types of containers.
The cubic shape of the IBCs allows the storage space to be used much more efficiently than, for example, with cylindrical drums. In addition, filling and emptying of the IBC occurs much faster than with other containers. Most IBCs are easy to clean after use, and can therefore be used multiple times.
If you also prefer to store your substances in IBCs and wonder how to keep their contents warm in a safe and efficient way, the HeatXperts IBC heaters are the perfect solution for you.
IBC heaters are a special type of heating jackets designed to keep the contents of an IBC tank safe and warm and prevent frost damage, contamination or flaking of the contents.
Heating substances with an IBC heater is a quick and easy process: the heater is placed around the IBC, fastened with the straps in and switched on. Once the desired temperature is reached, it will be maintained. In this way, IBC heaters are an excellent way to ensure optimal and uniform heating of the tank contents, as well as to control viscosity, maintain the required temperature or quickly melt any solid materials.
In addition, the IBC heaters can be used to protect the tank contents against frost damage, contamination, crystallization or flaking.
Increasing the fluidity of highly viscous substances by heating them up will make filling and emptying of your IBCs a lot easier while minimizing any unnecessary product waste.
The IBC heating jackets have a number of advantages compared to other methods of keeping your materials warm, such as heat bath, heat chamber, as well as conventional fan or radiant heaters. First of all, when using an IBC heater you don't need to worry about transporting your IBCs: they can be warmed up anywhere where there is a power supply. Each time the needs to be transported, the heating jacket can simply remain mounted – just be sure to disconnect the heater from the power source before the transportation.
Secondly, the IBC heater can be mounted and dismounted fairly quickly, as well as rolled up and stored efficiently when needed. And, last but not least – the price of an IBC is significantly lower than e.g. of a heat chamber, whereas it consumes much less energy than the alternative heating devices.
How to Tell if an IBC Tote Is Food GradeIBC totes carrying food must be certified as food grade to prevent contamination.
There are different types of food grade totes, with the most popular being stainless steel tanks or poly-caged totes.
Food-grade totes are certified by the DOT/UN.
An intermediate bulk container (IBC) is a type of storage unit designed to hold various materials in a warehouse, in a storage facility or in transit. Materials that IBCs are used to store include food, liquids, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, sand, grains and more. This type of storage container is very popular because they are durable and affordable. IBCs are made from various materials, depending on the intended use. Certain types of IBC totes are food grade, meaning they can be used to store food. Food grade totes are usually marked to indicate to the user that they are safe for storing food. It’s vital that you check for this marking before it makes contact with ingestible products. Otherwise, the consumers may ingest hazardous materials. When an IBC tote is certified as Food Grade, it was manufactured using safe materials to store products for human consumption. If you’re using an IBC to store food, you shouldn’t use it for anything else because traces of other materials can remain within the container. If your business involves handling food, you must learn how to tell if an IBC tote is food grade.
Using IBCs for water tanks: What do you need to know?Intermediate bulk containers, or IBCs, are commonly used to store industrial liquids or hazardous chemicals.
IBC water tanks can be used in a wide variety of roles and are completely reusable, making them a cost-effective way to store water.
You’ll often find IBC water tanks on construction sites or in large warehouses, but they have many other uses too.
In this article, we take a look at the practicalities of using IBCs as water tanks.
HOW MUCH WATER DOES AN IBC STORE?
Intermediate bulk containers are designed to carry large quantities of liquid or semi-solid substances, so they’re perfectly suited to storing water.
Because it is termed ‘intermediate’, an IBC is generally built to hold a capacity of 1,000 litres.
An IBC might be slightly smaller, even slightly larger, but not significantly.
HOW HEAVY ARE IBCS FILLED WITH WATER?
A full IBC water tank at maximum capacity of 1,000 litres will weigh at least 1,000 kilos.
That is just the water, so you also need to factor in the added weight of the IBC and that can vary significantly depending on the design.
A rigid IBC is generally made of solid plastic that’s placed inside a steel cage for protection and mounted a steel pallet, which allows it to be easily transported by forklift.
These designs are robust, offering plenty of protection, but they also add weight.
A standard 1,000-litre IBC water tank weighs on average 65 kilos when empty.
Add in 1,000 litres of water, and you have a total weight of 1,065 kilos.
Flexible IBCs weigh less because they don’t have a steel cage or pallet mount and are produced from woven plastic rather than rigid.
They don’t offer nearly as much strength and protection, but they are flexible.
Flexible IBCs can weigh as little as 10 kilos, making them easier to transport and compress than a rigid IBC when empty.
Of course, when full you have to factor in the weight of the water as well.
What Is an IBC Water Tank?
An IBC water tank is a container designed to safely store large quantities of liquids. IBC tanks are square or rectangular in shape, and are fitted with nozzles and valves to allow liquids to be poured into the tank or emptied with ease.
The ultimate purpose of an IBC tank is to store liquids. IBC tanks are UN certified and produced from food-grade materials. They can be reused, disinfected, cleaned, repaired and eventually recycled.
IBC tanks are designed for industrial usage. As well as nozzles and valves, they’re equipped with protective cages and pallets. They can be moved around using industrial equipment (forklifts etc.) and can be stacked one on top of another for ease of storage.
What Can IBC Tanks Be Used For?
IBC tanks are most commonly associated with water storage, as they are popular containers for holding drinking water or rainwater for long-term storage.

How to Choose the Right Threaded Insert for the JobWhenever you are working with fasteners, you want to be sure you have a strong, durable rivet or bolt that is suited to the job. Blind threaded inserts are among the most versatile types of fasteners, and there are thousands of types from which to choose. Choosing the right threaded insert depends on the nature of the materials you are working with and the application.
What’s a Threaded Insert?
A threaded insert is a sleeve with a threaded interior that can accept a bolt or threaded fastener. The insert can have different dimensions, be made of different materials, and come in different configurations or tooling; its design will hold fast in thin or soft materials, making the threaded fastener secure.
If you have devices that need to be disassembled and reassembled or that use particularly soft materials, threaded inserts offer a number of advantages, especially if the connection is load-bearing. Flexible plastics, for example, have difficulty holding a threaded bolt because the threads in the tap hole aren’t durable enough. Rather than relying on threads drilled into the soft workpiece itself, a threaded insert gives you more strength and more versatility and tends to be more resilient over time.
Designed with Automation in Mind
Blind threaded inserts can be installed from one side, enabling faster installation, especially in a production line. They offer a stronger alternative to weld nuts and tapped holes, and they provide a stronger bond than self-tapping screws. In fact, threaded inserts are usually the strongest and least time-consuming fasteners used in any manufacturing setting, especially because they were designed for automation.
Threaded inserts have ribbed walls that offer greater strength under load. They can be used at virtually any stage of production, including after a workpiece is painted or coated, because they don’t require reworking once they are installed. That’s why blind threaded inserts have become so popular in applications such as aerospace, defense, transportation, clean energy, medical applications, and electronics.
There are a variety of different types of threaded inserts, each with a different design for a specific application.

Rivet nut inserts, sometimes referred to as blind rivet nuts, can be installed from one side of a joint and have a counter-threaded interior designed to accept a bolt. Some rivet nuts will bulb on the blind side to create a solid connection. Others are designed to pull the rivet nut into the sleeve as they are tightened.
Rivet nuts were first used to connect thick-walled materials in the 1930s, when RIVNUT® fasteners came into extensive use in aerospace manufacturing. When securing metal, thick-wall threaded inserts are often used. These are the most common types of inserts and come with both ribbed and knurled bodies, as well as smooth bodies in round, hexagonal, semi-hexagonal, and other shapes. They are made of different materials and come in different shapes, including large and small flanged heads, open and closed-end, and other designs.
Thin-walled inserts came later in round, hexagonal, and square designs. These inserts offer added versatility, such as using sealant under the head or special plating for greater durability in harsh conditions.
They also come in a knurled body design for a better grip on the material. For thicker fiberglass materials, such as those used in boatbuilding, knurled inserts are often used to minimize corrosion.

Eurostyle inserts are round-body threaded inserts with semi-hexagonal, fully hexagonal, heavy hexagonal, or square body designs. They are available from a variety of manufacturers, including Avdel, Atlas, and Sherex Fastening Solutions.

Slotted body threaded inserts are designed with gashes in the body that expand when the bolt is tightened for a firm connection. Slotted-body threaded inserts are commonly used for thin-gauged metals, such as aluminum. This insert has cuts along the body that come pre-bulbed to collapse on the blind side to secure the insert. There are straight-body and pre-bulbed body types from manufacturers such as Avdel, Atlas, Sherex, AVK, Goebel, and Marson.

Self-Tapping InsertsYardley self-tapping inserts are ideally suited for high volume assembly operations because of their easy, quick installation. Inserting a self-tapping insert is as simple as driving a self-tapping screw or tapping a thread. A drilled hole of correct size must be provided, driver tool is applied to insert, driver and insert are positioned over the hole, insert is driven (turned) home and the driver is backed off, leaving the insert installed. The insert cuts its own threads as it is driven into the base material. The methods listed below can be used to install Yardley TRI-SERT and FIBERSERT inserts.
Because it is driven by its internal threads, a different driver is required for each insert size. Thread cutting can be accomplished on either end because there is a lead in both ends of the insert. Alignment is important and the insert should be used with a hand tapper or a tapping head attachment on a drill press without a lead screw. For applications in recessed areas or close to walls or ribs, a Yardley Extension Driver may be used to facilitate installation. Inserts should be installed flush or below material surface. Thus, when one assembles a bracket and screw to the insert, the load is not transmitted directly through the insert but to the surface of the boss or the material in which the insert is installed. This is especially important where vibration is encountered.
The ultrasonic process converts electronic energy into high frequency mechanical vibration. The ultrasonic equipment operates from a normal 60-cycle line current and converts this to an output of 20,000 cycles per second. The output of the power supply received by the ultrasonic press that is similar to an arbor press in that there is a longitudinally moving arbor or tool. In this moving arbor, the oscillating electrical input of 20,000 cycles per second is converted to a mechanical vibration of 20,000 cps.
In the production operation, an insert is placed on the pre-drilled or pre-molded hole and the horn of the ultrasonic tool is pressed down on the insert. The horn transmits ultrasonic vibration to the metal insert and the friction from the vibration of the insert melts a thin film of resin at the metal-plastic interface. Pressure from the ultrasonic tool forces the metal insert into the hole until it is completely inserted. When the ultrasonic tool is removed, the melted plastic next to the insert solidifies and the insert is locked into place.
Since only a thin film of the resin is melted, residual stresses in a boss are minimized. Insertion time is relatively fast and the ultrasonic method is ideal for automatic, high production operations.
Cored or machined holes should be the correct size for the insert used. Excess melt squeezes out if the hole is too small. If the hole there is a reduction in stripping torque and pull-out force. Generally, the boss diameter should be twice that of the insert diameter. A larger boss diameter increases the stripping torque. Please consult our engineering department on your applications.
How, Why & Where To Use Self-Clinching FastenersBroadly defined, a self-clinching fastener (also known as clinch or captive fastener) is any device, usually threaded, that, when pressed into ductile metal, displaces the host material around the mounting hole, causing it to cold flow into a specially designed annular recess in the shank or pilot of the fastener. A serrated clinching ring, knurl, ribs or hex head prevents the fastener from rotating in the host material once it has been properly inserted. Thus, self-clinching fasteners become a permanent part of the panel, chassis, bracket, or other item into which they are installed.
Generally, self-clinching fasteners take less space and require fewer assembly operations than caged or anchor nuts. They also have greater reusability and more holding power than sheet metal screws. They are used chiefly where good pullout and torque loads are required in sheet metal that is too thin to provide secure fastening by any other method. Even if the sheet is thick enough to sustain tapping, it may actually be more economical to use self-clinching fasteners with gaugeable threads. They can be installed during fabrication or during final assembly to eliminate loose hardware. In fact, the use of self-clinching fasteners often will support a thinner sheet metal, and permit a real reduction in installed cost over the cost of other fastener designs. Because of their compact design and low profile, they provide for a neat appearance, too.
As a rule, a self-clinching fastener should be specified whenever a component must be readily replaced and where “loose” nuts and hardware wouldn’t be accessible. If the attaching “nuts” and “screws” can’t be reached after a chassis or cabinet is assembled, self-clinching fasteners can be installed during metal fabrication and can simplify and expedite component mounting and assembly operations, including those performed in the field.
How do I use cage nuts? You may have heard of cage nuts and wondered what they are and how they are used. Today we are going to discuss cage nuts and show you some of their advantages and uses.
Cage nuts are used to mount IT equipment in server racks, such as the StarTech.com 4POSTRACK25U. Server racks compatible with cage nuts can be easily identified by the square holes the cage nuts use. Cage nuts are great for protecting your equipment from stripped threads and allow for convenient mounting of your server rack equipment.
A cage nut houses a standard nut in a cage with a spring. The cage has two wings that can be pinched together to allow the cage nut to be inserted into a square hole. The wings are then released to hold the cage nut in place. Cage nuts come in many sizes but M5 and M6 cage nuts are mainly used in IT environments. M6 is a heavier, more robust cage nut that M5.
Let’s take a look at mounting a Cage Nut on a rail in the StarTech.com 4POSTRACK25U.
In some situations, you may be advised to use a slot screwdriver to help install cage nuts. However, you will find it much easier to use a cage nut mounting tool.
To install a cage nut, use your tool to attach one of the wings from the cage nut. Keep the pressure on the cage nut with your finger and then attach the other wing. The cage nut is now ready for the mounting screw.
To uninstall a cage nut, use your tool to release the cage nut wing on one side and then the other side.
You can check to see if your StarTech.com product includes cage nuts by navigating to the StarTech.com website, searching for the product, and checking the Technical Specifications tab under the heading What’s in the Box.
What are turned parts?Turned parts are mechanically manufactured and mostly rotationally symmetrical parts that are produced by turning as a manufacturing process. Similarly, we speak of welded parts in welding, laser parts in laser cutting or milled parts in milling.
In the turning process, the workpiece is machined with the help of lathes for turning-milling centres. In this process, the turned parts are sculpted by a turning chisel. The excess material of the turned part is thus removed by the turning chisel, with often more than 1,000 rpm. The material specifications, the tools and the diameter to be machined influence the turning speed and the feed rate during turning.

Weight loss supplements come in a variety of forms, including pills, gummies, powders, and liquids, like teas.
They often tout fast and easy weight loss with a promise that you can lose inches without having to rely solely on eating a balanced diet or exercising regularly.
And they’re extremely popular. The weight loss supplement industry was worth $6.5 billion in 2020.
But do these supplements actually work?
A new comprehensive study published in the journal ObesityTrusted Source on June 23 has found that dietary supplements do not result in dramatic weight loss as they claim.
In fact, it’s rare that people who take these supplements lose any weight, the research showed.
There’s been an ongoing debate about whether weight loss supplements work and whether they deliver on their promises.
In this study, researchers reviewed 315 existing clinical trials of weight loss supplements and alternative therapies as part of the study. They found most studies were biased.
Only 16 studies managed to demonstrate weight loss in participants, ranging from less than 1 pound up to 11 pounds. Weight loss was also not consistent among the study participants.
The researchers reviewed the following 12 ingredients:

calcium and vitamin D

chitosan

chocolate/cocoa

chromium

ephedra or caffeine

garcinia and/or hydroxycitrate

green tea

guar gum

conjugated linoleic acid (CLA)

phaseolus

phenylpropylamine

pyruvate

Other non-supplement therapies that were studied included acupuncture and mind-body interventions like mindfulness and meditation.
“One of the major reasons we wanted to conduct this review was to determine the quality of the evidence to guide the membership [of The Obesity Society]. The results suggest that more high quality evidence is needed before firm recommendations should be made,” said corresponding author Dr. John Batsis, associate professor in the division of geriatric medicine at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine and in the department of nutrition at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
Sharon Zarabi, RD, program director at Northwell Health’s Katz Institute for Women’s Health in New York City and Westchester, said the study outcome was not surprising “because obesity is a very complex disease and there will never be a magic pill to cure” it.
“Even if there was a supplement, ingredient, herb, tincture, etc., that would work, supplements are not regulated by the FDA. Understanding the manufacturing practices, degree of active ingredients versus fillers, dose, quality, and efficacy, will be impossible to formulate,” she told Healthline.
Zarabi pointed out that changing your lifestyle is likely the only way to manage your weight.
“Taking a cocoa pill or ginseng supplement will never work if you don’t change your lifestyle because your body is always defending you from weight loss, and you have to be an active participant in healthy living to keep it off — even with surgical procedures (bariatric surgery),” she said.
Why are regulations needed for natural health products? Before January 1st, 2004, natural health products (NHPs) were sold as either drugs or food under the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations because there was no other category under which to classify them.
If classified as a drug, natural health products must follow the drug review process (including proving safety and efficacy through clinical trials) and have a Drug Identification Number (DIN) to be sold. If classified as a food, natural health products can make only very limited health claims and do not have to provide much safety information on their labels.
As more and more Canadians began to use NHPs, it became obvious that neither classification (as either a drug or food) was appropriate, and that a new policy which would directly address the unique nature of NHPs was needed. The Natural Health Products Regulations were developed to address this need.
2. Natural health products are regulated as a subset of drugs under the Food and Drugs Act. Why doesn’t Health Canada regulate NHPs as a distinct category separate from both food and drugs?
Under the Food and Drugs Act, NHPs must be classified as either a food or a drug since there is no other category in which to classify them. Because NHPs are taken for therapeutic reasons and not for caloric purposes or to address hunger, they are more similar to drugs than food.
Under the current Food and Drug Regulations, foods can make only limited diet-related or nutritional content claims (and not treatment claims, for example). Also, the current regulations do not include a complete good manufacturing practices framework which is needed to ensure the quality and safety of NHPs. Finally, foods are generally not subject to pre-market review and assessment by Health Canada before they can be sold.
During consultations on NHPs, Canadians consistently asked for controls to make sure what is on the label is in the bottle and ensure a pre-market assessment of health claims. While creating another category distinct from both food and drugs was considered, an amendment at the level of the Act would have been necessary. Because the timelines and legislative process needed for a change of this magnitude would be long, it was decided that natural health products would be considered drugs under the Act, but with a set of regulations specific to NHPs.
Health Canada is currently conducting a comprehensive review of its health protection legislation to replace outdated statutes with a new health protection legislative regime. The objectives of the legislative review are to strengthen and modernize the legislation, and to provide policy direction in the area of health protection. The creation of additional categories for certain classes of health or therapeutic products may be considered as a part of this process.
Chondroitin SulfateChondroitin sulfate is a chemical found in human and animal cartilage. It is commonly used by mouth with glucosamine or other ingredients for osteoarthritis.
Chondroitin sulfate is one of the building blocks of cartilage. In osteoarthritis, the cartilage in the joints breaks down. Taking chondroitin sulfate might slow this breakdown. It is usually manufactured from animal sources, such as shark and cow cartilage. It can also be made in a lab.
Chondroitin sulfate is used for osteoarthritis and cataracts. It is often used together with other ingredients, including manganese ascorbate, hyaluronic acid, collagen peptides, or glucosamine. Chondroitin sulfate is also used for many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.
There is interest in using chondroitin sulfate for a number of other purposes, but there isn't enough reliable information to say whether it might be helpful.
When taken by mouth: Chondroitin sulfate is likely safe when used for up to 6 years. It can cause some mild stomach pain and nausea. Other possible side effects include bloating, diarrhea, and constipation.
When placed into the eye: Chondroitin sulfate is possibly safe when used together with other ingredients in an eye drop.Chondroitin: Everything You Need to KnowChondroitin is a chemical found primarily in joint cartilage. A form of chondroitin, known as chondroitin sulfate, is manufactured from animal byproducts and sold as a dietary supplement to aid in the treatment of osteoarthritis.
Chondroitin sulfate is often co-formulated with glucosamine sulfate, a naturally occurring compound found in joint fluid, under the presumption that they can slow or even reverse the loss of joint cartilage.
Chondroitin supplements are intended to enhance the shock-absorbing properties of joint cartilage and block enzymes that break down cartilage. Unlike other dietary supplements used to treat arthritis, chondroitin has undergone a significant amount of clinical research to evaluate its safety and effectiveness.
Starting in 2004, a multicenter trial funded by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (formerly called the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine; a department of the National Institutes of Health) and the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases aimed to evaluate the purported benefits of chondroitin sulfate and/or glucosamine sulfate.
The Glucosamine/Chondroitin Arthritis Intervention Trial (GAIT) was a large, randomized, placebo-controlled trial that was conducted in two parts:

The first two-year study aimed to assess whether chondroitin and/or glucosamine could alleviate the pain of knee osteoarthritis.
Though it’s naturally produced in the body, some people choose to take it as a supplement for its potential joint-building properties. Many of these people take it for osteoarthritis (OA).
This article explains everything you need to know about chondroitin sulfate, including its benefits, recommended dosage, and some potential downsides.
We use the terms “chondroitin sulfate” and “chondroitin” interchangeably throughout this article.
Chondroitin sulfate is a compound present naturally in the body as an essential part of hyaline cartilage, a tissue that cushions your joints.
You can also find it as a dietary supplement, often combined with glucosamine, another structural component of cartilage.
In addition, you can also find it in certain animal-based foods, including bone broths, stews, soups, and other dishes that contain cuts of meat with connective tissue.
People commonly use it to help combat the symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA), a degenerative joint disease in which the cartilage at the ends of your bones wears down, causing pain and increasing the risk of fracture.

The second two-year study was designed to evaluate whether the supplements could reduce the loss of joint cartilage in people with knee osteoarthritis.
Chondroitin Sulfate: Benefits, Downsides, Dosage, and MoreChondroitin sulfate is a popular supplement that people often use to help manage joint pain.

Truck Body Types: An OverviewIf you own your own business, chances are you don’t have time to run the logistics and do all the work too.
This is why you rely on having good team members and good tools to help make sure the work gets done.
Having a good truck can also ensure that your projects make it from point A to point B. Also, every industry has their necessary truck body types. To learn more about each one, read on:
A flatbed is a truck body that only has a chassis. These can be used to haul different kinds of materials. They usually consist of different ropes and sheets to help hold down the cargo you are hauling.
These bodies are also good for add-ons. If you want to build your own custom body, flatbeds are a good place to start.
A van body can be used for different industries. From landscaping to furniture, these bodies will haul it all. These are useful when you want to keep whatever you are moving away from intense sun, rain, or snow.
These bodies are also known to be very cost efficient to buy or rent. What’s great about these bodies is that you can customize them to fit your needs. But it will need some organizing to ensure the bed doesn’t get too cluttered.
A contractor body is one of the most versatile truck body types. It is very popular and used for a wide range of industries. One of the most obvious differences between a contractor body and other types of bodies is the storage.
While it still offers a spacious bed for larger items, it also offers compartments all along the side and back of the truck. These are great places to keep tools and equipment out of the way during your work.
Many of these trucks offer storage spaces that will lock. This is important to keep your more expensive items secured.
This type of truck body is often used in industries such as landscaping or demolition. They are extremely sturdy, and capable of carrying materials that could be damaging to other truck bodies.
These materials may include large rocks or large amounts of sand. These bodies are for professionals who are often dumping materials onto the ground.
These bodies are usually used for the food industry. The entire body acts as one big refrigerator. But they don’t only need to be used for food! If you have any materials that need to be regulated a certain temperature, this is the body for the job.
These can be a little pricey due to this constant regulation – the refrigeration inside of the van is sometimes maintained by another engine.
These are bodies that consist of a tank-like build. They can be used to transport liquids, gases, and bulk materials. Depending on the material you are hauling, you will have the option of your tank being pressurized or insulated.
Hino Trucks Forms Tank Program With Amthor InternationalHino Trucks and Amthor International announced today that they have formed a Tank Body Program for the refined fuel, propane, fire prevention, vacuum/septic and all related tank industries.
Hino Trucks nationwide dealer network will now have the opportunity to become a one-stop location for the truck chassis, truck tank and all other necessary equipment as well as future service and parts. These Hino Trucks dealers are being trained on the sales, marketing, installation, service and maintenance of Amthor Tanks mounted on a Hino chassis.
Glenn Ellis, Vice President of Marketing and Dealer Operations for Hino Trucks commented, “As our market share continues to grow, more customers in more vocations are experiencing the low cost of ownership of the Hino truck. Our expansion into the tank market is one segment we see tremendous opportunity for growth and we are pleased to take this next step with Amthor International.”“We are delighted and honored to be working with Hino Trucks, known worldwide as a quality manufacturer of commercial trucks,” stated Brian Amthor, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Amthor International. “Our affiliation will offer our mutual customers excellent products, access to the latest in technology and impeccable service. We look forward to working with Hino Trucks.”
Essential Spare Parts Catalog For Your Mercedes-BenzOne of the most cherished luxury in today’s scenario is the car, and one of the most dreamed about brand is Mercedes-Benz. With the passage of time the car has become more affordable and is now present in almost every home. Mercedes has also adjusted its pricing to be more competitive in the market while continuously improving its offers to them.
While buying a car, people consider their budget the first and then go in for other criteria for making the choice. Apart from brand, model and the color there is nothing that people consider, that is, the maintenance of the car.
One of the important sub-category that falls under the heading of maintenance of car is the availability of spare parts. Here, in the technocratic era, it is not difficult to buy a car but what is difficult is getting the spare part in case you require any. Sooner or later there arise a need to look for the spare part of the car for many reasons.
Many of you might be aware though many might be wandering what all spare parts can we need. You therefore need to have a look at the spare parts catalog.
Here is a list of essential spare parts for your Mercedes-Benz.
Under this major we have many parts that are important for the working of a car. These include the spare parts like cabin air filter, AC compressor and condenser. In addition to these, you have expansion valve, heater, and V-belts.
The body of the car comprises of several parts that include bonnet, door, engine cover, frame, mirrors, panels, windows and windshield.
Next come the brakes. These are broadly categorized as brake hydraulics /hoses, disc brake, drum brake and hand brake. These include brake booster, brake master cylinder, vacuum pump, brake in the former category. Brake caliper, front brake disc, rear brake disc, front brake pads, rear brake pads in the second category. Others include brake shoes and wheel brake cylinder.
Wouldn't It Be Nice if Bus and Bikeshare Worked Together?Last week I got the call I’d been dreading from my bike shop: My bike, which I’d brought in a few days before, and which I use to get everywhere, was beyond repair. After stopping by the shop to pick up the pieces, and going through a brief mourning period, I signed up for a monthly membership with BlueBike, Boston’s bikeshare system.
I didn’t like losing my personal bike – but after getting around on city bikeshare for a week, I feel like I’ve had a glimpse into the future of urban transportation. With a monthly membership, each ride is free, and that’s changed how I get around the city. The biggest change is how much it’s improved bus and train travel. Suddenly, planning bus or train trips is dramatically easier and more flexible. I no longer need the perfect route. With BlueBike stations all over the city, my bus just needs to get me “close enough,” and then I can just hop on a bike and get where I’m going. Or if I’m starting off far from the station, my first instinct is no longer to look for an Uber – instead, I can just bike to the right stop. And I don’t have to give a thought to retrieving my bike later.
After just a week of mixing bike, bus and train, I’ve been thinking: Wouldn’t it be incredible if they were all part of one service? Just as my MBTA Charlie Card gets me free transfers between buses and trains, what if it could also get me on a bike or an electric scooter? It’s not hard to see how this would result in more people getting around on all these types of transportation, and would increase the accessibility and geographic reach of the whole system.
Although I am just truly appreciating it for the first time, the idea of integrating bikeshare and transit is nothing new. Since 2017, Pittsburgh’s transit system has let users take free 15-minute rides on the city’s Healthy Ride bikeshare system, after linking their accounts. In Milwaukee, riders can get a special stickerwith an integrated chip that can unlock Bublr Bikes, and is designed to stick right onto transit cards. Milwaukee buses also announce whether there is a bikeshare station at approaching bus stops. And in many cities, smartphone apps like TransitApp and Google Maps already let users plan trips combining bike and transit.
As it turns out, Boston has a history of making life easier for travelers by combining and simplifying transportation systems. I recently read a book about the birth of the Boston subway system called The Race Underground and learned that originally, Boston’s horse-drawn trollies were run by competing private companies. In 1887, there were more than 20 companies all fighting over customers – and each required a separate ticket, creating a big hassle for travelers. In response, Massachusetts merged each company under one single system. And almost 80 years later, Massachusetts consolidated local transit systems under the MBTA, America’s first regional transit system. These changes made life for riders easier and cheaper by allowing transfers between trains and buses across a wide area, and making transit experiences more consistent and predictable.
Yesterday, I finally got a shiny new bike that I hope will last me forever, but I also know there will be plenty of times in the future when I won’t have it. I wish that for those times, unlocking a shared bike was easier – and that I could do it with my existing Charlie Card, and get everything through just one monthly pass or trip fare. As it happens, right now the MBTA is moving toward a new fare payment system called AFC 2.0that should bring advanced features like smartphone ticketing, and that could (as others have noted) be a good opportunity to integrate bikeshare. There are plenty of good environmental and economic reasons to want this – but I also know that it will just make getting around easier and more fun. There’s no reason why Boston, and cities and towns around the country, can’t make it happen.
Transit Oriented Development on a Small Town ScaleWhile transit oriented development is increasingly common in major urban areas, smaller communities are also working hard to ensure that public transportation can be a viable alternative to the single occupant vehicle. One good example is State College, Pennsylvania, where the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) has been particularly successful in securing transit-supportive elements as part of new real estate developments. In State College and its surrounding municipalities, as in most small communities, there are no ordinances requiring new residential or commercial developments to incorporate any particular transit amenities. However, that hasn’t stopped CATA from working diligently for more than two decades to develop an informal support system, one which has produced uncommonly good results.

Types of Asphalt Paving EquipmentWe park on asphalt parking lots and drive on asphalt highways and roads every day, but how often do we think about the equipment required to build them?
Let’s take a look at the equipment needed to construct these asphalt surfaces and how it’s used.
Milling Machines
Milling machines are used to remove the top layer of an existing pavement before a new asphalt layer is laid. Milling can remove only the surface or the entire depth of the pavement, known as full-depth removal. Paved areas may need to be milled to level the surface or repair the damaged layer.
A milling machine, also called a cold planer, is a heavy-duty piece of equipment with a large rotating drum. Cutters inside the drum rotate and cut up the existing asphalt surface to the required depth. A vacuum sucks up the milled material where it’s loaded onto a conveyer belt attached to the milling machine. Water is typically applied to the drum during the milling process to reduce the machine’s extreme heat and minimize the dust milling causes. A dump truck moves alongside the milling machine to collect the material as it’s removed. This method saves both time and effort. The milled asphalt is recycled and used in other projects.
Sweepers
After the asphalt pavement has been milled, a sweeper is used to clean the surface. Large particles of debris can cause uneven compaction of the asphalt. Even small amounts of dust and debris left on the ground can prevent the new asphalt from bonding properly with the surface below. It’s also necessary to sweep after milling to prevent small rocks from hitting the oncoming traffic and damaging vehicles’ windshields.
Dump Trucks
Most asphalt paving job sites use several types of dump trucks to haul asphalt from the plant to the job site. Here are some of the most common ones:

Bottom Dump – Bottom dump trucks are also known as belly dump trucks because they release their load from underneath instead of spilling it out like standard dump trucks. Sloped internal walls guide the asphalt out through opened gates.

End Dump – These trucks raise the front end and let the asphalt slide down the bottom of the bed and out the back through a tailgate. End dump trucks are popular because they are versatile and easy to maneuver.

Live Bottom – Live bottom, or flo-boy, dump trucks have a conveyor system at the bottom of their bed to unload their payload. Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) is discharged out of the trucks’ bed without raising the bed. These trucks are more expensive to operate and maintain because of the conveyor system, but they can decrease segregation problems because the HMA is moved out in large piles. They can also eliminate some potential types of truck bed paver contact because the bed isn’t raised during the unloading process.

Pavement Design and TestingParklandGEO can provide pavement related from preliminary and detailed design through to post-construction pavement management, maintenance and rehabilitation. We offer pavement related design recommendations as part of many of our geotechnical engineering projects as well as the following specialized pavement services:

CCIL Certified aggregate lab (Type D Advanced)

CCIL Certified technicians for testing

Pavement Design

Pavement Management

Failure Investigations

Superpave mix designs and aggregate testing

Construction testing for pavement materials and roads

ParklandGEO usually undertakes pavement design as part of municipal infrastructure or industrial/ residential land development projects; and provides designs based on pavement assessments for reconstruction/ upgrade projects on existing roadways. We have provided designs for flexible asphalt concrete pavements (ACP), rigid Portland cement concrete (PCC) pavements, roller compacted concrete (RCC) pavements, interlocking paver block/ slab pavements and granular pavements including pads and resource roads on muskeg.
ParklandGEO has considerable experience undertaking pavement assessment and failure investigations on industrial, urban road and highway project sites. In Western Canada most hard surface roads are constructed with ACP. We are very familiar with Pavement Management System evaluations for ACP, including structural assessments based on deflection testing, visual condition assessments, ride comfort indexes, etc. While we subcontract major deflection testing projects (i.e. FWD or Dynaflect), we have the ability to undertake localized pavement deflection testing for smaller projects using Benkelman Beam equipment. We have experience using a number of subgrade, base and pavement reinforcement options including: geotextiles, geo-grids, geo-cells, cement stabilized subgrade, cement stabilized base (soil cement), Full Depth Reclamation (foamed asphalt base), Deep Asphalt Base Replacement, ACP layers with Polymer Modified Performance Grade Asphalt Cement and composite pavements including PCC pavement layers. Our innovative knowledge in pavement technology helps us to provide our rehabilitation project clients with optimized pavement designs and reduced life cycle costs.
Types of AsphaltLarge potholes can ruin anyone’s day. Not only are they a nuisance to your car (and your alignment), but they also create a safety hazard for pedestrians. Whether you need to clear up a pothole in a street, a driveway, or a parking lot, asphalt is the material that you will need in order to smooth your way.
When working with asphalt, it is important to know the different varieties that are available. There are three main types of asphalt: Hot Asphalt, MC Cold Mix, and UPM. There are also different varieties of these asphalts for summer and winter use. Below is a brief overview of each type of asphalt.
Hot Asphalt is the type of asphalt that you mostly see when driving past a construction crew. Use mostly for paving and patching, Hot Asphalt, as its name suggest, is easiest to work with when the temperature of the asphalt is high. Hot Asphalt is a permanent solution to a problem, but must be used almost immediately after purchasing. As the asphalt cools, it becomes increasingly difficult to work with, and once completely cool, it hardens like a rock.
MC Cold Mix is asphalt that can be used as a temporary fix. Since the asphalt is used at cold temperatures, it is slow to cure and best used in areas that have little to no traffic.
UPM is also a cold mix asphalt, but unlike MC Cold Mix, it can be used as a permanent fix to any asphalt or concrete problem, Designed to work in any weather condition, UPM can be used to fix both wet and dry holes, allowing you to make any repair in any situation. Once that asphalt has been compacted, it is immediately ready to be tread upon. Learn more about the benefits of UPM.
These three different types of asphalt offer good solutions to asphalt problems that you might have in your home or business. By knowing the differences, you can make sure you pick the right one for your situation.
Applications & Uses of Bitumen in ConstructionAccording to IS: 334-1951, bitumen is a non-crystalline solid or viscous material having adhesive properties, derived from petroleum either by natural or refinery process. During this process, smaller amounts of crude oil like kerosene, fuel oil, spirit and lubricating oil evaporate.
Bituminous materials were used for the construction of roads, preserving timber and for waterproofing stone walls. Nowadays, they are extensively used for surfacing of road and airport pavements.
Bitumen emulsion: It is a mixture of bitumen, water and an emulsifying agent, which is in liquid form formed in aqueous medium and stabilizing agents. There are three varieties of bitumen emulsion, namely, slow setting (SS), medium setting (MS) and rapid setting (RS) depending upon the stability provided by the emulsifying agent.
It can be easily applied at ambient temperature, merely mixing it with aggregates for road works starts the binding process. The colour change from brown to black indicates the binding and can be used for road repairs and soil stabilization.
Blown bitumen: It is produced by heating until it becomes a liquid and then passing air under pressure by which all the volatile compounds in it can be forced out. It is in solid form and has a high softening point so that if exposed directly to the sunlight for a long time, it does not melt.
How to Conduct a Soil pH Test at HomeAs a home gardener, it's important to test soil pH because certain plants have specific pH requirements and won't thrive unless the soil pH falls within a particular range. pH measures the level of acidity in the soil and it affects a plant’s ability to absorb nutrients. If the soil pH level falls outside of a plant's recommended range, all the plant food and fertilizer in the world won’t help -- the plants can’t absorb nutrients.
Technically speaking, a soil pH test measures how many hydrogen ions are in the soil. On a scale of 1 to 14, a pH less than 7.0 is acidic, 7.0 is neutral, and anything higher than 7.0 is alkaline. Acidic or alkaline soil isn't necessarily bad; it all depends on the plants you're growing.1 Most plants can adapt to soil pH ranges from 6 to 7.5, but some plants have distinct requirements. For instance, blueberries require acidic soil in the range of 4.5 to 5.5 to produce berries while lavender tends to do best in alkaline soil about 8.0.

Cutlery includes any hand implement used in preparing, serving, and especially eating food in Western culture. A person who makes or sells cutlery is called a cutler. The city of Sheffield in England has been famous for the production of cutlery since the 17th century and a train – the Master Cutler – running from Sheffield to London was named after the industry. Bringing affordable cutlery to the masses, stainless steel was developed in Sheffield in the early 20th century. Cutlery is more usually known as silverware or flatware in the United States, where cutlery can have the more specific meaning of knives and other cutting instruments[citation needed]. Although the term silverware is used irrespective of the material composition of the utensils, the term tableware has come into use to avoid the implication that they are made of silver. The major items of cutlery in Western culture are the knife, fork and spoon. These three implements first appeared together on tables in Britain in the Georgian era. In recent times, hybrid versions of cutlery have been made combining the functionality of different eating implements, including the spork (spoon / fork), spife (spoon / knife), and knork (knife / fork). The sporf or splade combines all three.
Biodegradable cutley refers to cutley that can undergo biochemical reactions under the action of microorganisms (bacteria, molds, algae) and enzymes in the natural environment, causing mildew in appearance to change in internal quality, and finally forms carbon dioxide and water. There are two kinds of materials used for degradable tableware: one is made of natural materials, such as paper products, straw, starch, etc., which are degradable and are also called environmentally friendly products; The other is made of plastic as the main component, adding starch, photosensitizer and other substances. Green packaging should meet three points, one is easy to recycle, the other is easy to dispose of, and the third is easy to absorb, that is, it is easy to be integrated by the natural environment, but even degradable tableware is not something that can be done in a short time. Many degradable products claim that the degradation time is three months to six months, but this is actually determined in a standard laboratory environment. In the natural environment, the degradation is affected by various factors such as temperature and humidity. Where there is no water, it is difficult to degrade.” Under natural conditions, degraded products take at least one year to degrade.
Bamboo and wood tableware is a variety of utensils and utensils for distributing or ingesting food. Including complete sets of bowls, chopsticks, knives, forks, plates, plates, trays, wooden shovels, wooden spoons, wooden scoops, rice steamers, and various containers and handheld utensils for various purposes. Chopsticks are the most common bamboo tableware in daily life. Bamboo cutley is divided into bamboo tableware and wooden tableware according to the raw materials. Domestic kitchen bamboo and wood products pay special attention to the details of consumers' life, try to meet consumers' consumption habits in details, reduce the complicated process of food production, and simplify it to a one-click 0K type. All wooden tableware is made of imported rubber wood and black walnut. The wood is delicate and the structure is beautiful. According to the natural texture of the wood, a beautiful graphic structure is prepared, and the utensils are peculiar in shape. There are many bamboo and wood tableware series products, including: serving utensils, cutting boards, bowls and cups, chopsticks and knife boxes and other series. In addition, it is also unique in shape. In addition to the usual square, round, heart-shaped, and cylindrical shapes, there are also special irregular-shaped utensils such as outer and inner circle, gourd-shaped, boat-shaped, and fish-shaped. It is exquisite and has collectible value, which is different from the monotony of ordinary kitchen utensils in the traditional sense. Bamboo and wood kitchen utensils also reflect the comfort and care in the kitchen. Compared with the cold glass products and monotonous plastic products, the stable and elegant bamboo and wood products are particularly friendly. Compared with ceramic, glass and plastic tableware, bamboo and wood tableware also has very prominent advantages: heat preservation, anti-scalding and durability.
Sterling silver is the traditional material from which good quality cutlery is made. Historically, silver had the advantage over other metals of being less chemically reactive. Chemical reactions between certain foods and the cutlery metal can lead to unpleasant tastes. Gold is even less reactive than silver, but the use of gold cutlery was confined to the exceptionally wealthy, such as monarchs. Steel was always used for more utilitarian knives, and pewter was used for some cheaper items, especially spoons. From the nineteenth century, electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) was used as a cheaper substitute for sterling silver. In 1913, the British metallurgist Harry Brearley discovered stainless steel by chance, bringing affordable cutlery to the masses. This metal has come to be the predominant one used in cutlery. An alternative is melchior, corrosion-resistant nickel and copper alloy, which can also sometimes contain manganese and nickel-iron. Wooden cutlery with disposable is available as a popular biodegradable alternative. Bamboo (although not a wood) and maple are popular choices. Plastic cutlery is made for disposable use, and is frequently used outdoors for camping, excursions, and barbecues for instance. Plastic cutlery is also commonly used at fast-food or take-away outlets and provided with airline meals in economy class. Plastic is also used for children's cutlery. It is often thicker and more durable than disposable plastic cutlery.
Plastarch Material (PSM) is a biodegradable, thermoplastic resin. It is composed of starch combined with several other biodegradable materials. The starch is modified in order to obtain heat-resistant properties, making PSM one of few bioplastics capable of withstanding high temperatures. PSM began to be commercially available in 2005. PSM is stable in the atmosphere, but biodegradable in compost, wet soil, fresh water, seawater, and activated sludge where microorganisms exist. It has a softening temperature of 257 °F (125 °C) and a melting temperature of 313 °F (156 °C). Due to how similar PSM is to other plastics (such as polypropylene and CPET), PSM can run on many existing thermoforming and injection molding lines. PSM is currently used for a wide variety of applications in the plastic market, such as food packaging and utensils, personal care items, plastic bags, temporary construction tubing, industrial foam packaging, industrial and agricultural film, window insulation, construction stakes, and horticulture planters. Since PSM is derived from a renewable resource (corn starch), it has become an attractive alternative to petrochemical-derived products. Unlike plastic, PSM can also be disposed of through incineration, resulting in non-toxic smoke and a white residue which can be used as fertilizer. However, concerns have been expressed about the impact of such technologies on food prices. PSM Cutlery (formerly known and Plant Starch Cutlery) is excellent for hot foods with a heat tolerance up to 200° F.
A flower, sometimes known as a bloom or blossom, is the reproductive structure found in flowering plants (plants of the division Angiospermae). The biological function of a flower is to facilitate reproduction, usually by providing a mechanism for the union of sperm with eggs . Flowers may facilitate outcrossing (fusion of sperm and eggs from different individuals in a population) resulting from cross-pollination or allow selfing (fusion of sperm and egg from the same flower) when self-pollination occurs. The two types of pollination are: self-pollination and cross-pollination. Self-pollination happens when the pollen from the anther is deposited on the stigma of the same flower, or another flower on the same plant. Cross-pollination is the transfer of pollen from the anther of one flower to the stigma of another flower on a different individual of the same species. Self-pollination happens in flowers where the stamen and carpel mature at the same time, and are positioned so that the pollen can land on the flower's stigma. This pollination does not require an investment from the plant to provide nectar and pollen as food for pollinators. Some flowers produce diaspores without fertilization (parthenocarpy). Flowers contain sporangia and are the site where gametophytes develop. Many flowers have evolved to be attractive to animals, so as to cause them to be vectors for the transfer of pollen. After fertilization, the ovary of the flower develops into fruit containing seeds. In addition to facilitating the reproduction of flowering plants, preserved flowers have long been admired and used by humans to bring beauty to the environment, and also as objects of romance, ritual, esotericism, witchcraft, religion, medicine, and as a source of food.
Hydrangea common names hortensia, is a genus of over 75 species of flowering plants native to Asia and the Americas. By far the greatest species diversity is in eastern Asia, notably China, Korea, and Japan. Most are shrubs 1–3 m (3 ft 3 in – 9 ft 10 in) tall, but some are small trees, and others lianas reaching up to 30 m (100 ft) by climbing up trees. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous. In most species, preserved hydrangeas are white, but in others (notably H. macrophylla), they can be blue, red, pink, light purple, or dark purple. In these species, floral color change occurs due to the presence of aluminum ions which are available or tied up depending upon the soil pH. For H. macrophylla and H. serrata cultivars, the flower color can be determined by the relative acidity of the soil: an acidic soil (pH below 7), will have available aluminum ions and typically produce flowers that are blue to purple, whereas an alkaline soil (pH above 7) will tie up aluminum ions and result in pink or red flowers. This is caused by a color change of the flower pigments in the presence of aluminum ions which can be taken up into hyperaccumulating plants. Lowering the pH of potting soils or mixes usually does not change the flower color to blue, because these soils have no aluminum ions. The ability to blue or pink a hydrangea is also influenced by the cultivar. Some plants are selected for their ability to be blued, while others are bred and selected to be red, pink, or white. The flower color of most other Hydrangea species is not affected by aluminum and cannot be changed or shifted. Hydrangeas are also nicknamed 'Change Rose'.
Amaranthus is a cosmopolitan genus of annual or short-lived perennial plants collectively known as amaranths. Some amaranth species are cultivated as leaf vegetables, pseudocereals, and ornamental plants. Most of the Amaranthus species are summer annual weeds and are commonly referred to as pigweeds. Catkin-like cymes of densely packed flowers grow in summer or autumn. Amaranth varies in flower, leaf, and stem color with a range of striking pigments from the spectrum of maroon to crimson and can grow longitudinally from 1 to 2.5 metres (3 to 8 metres) feet) tall with a cylindrical, succulent, fibrous stem that is hollow with grooves and bracteoles when mature. There are approximately 75 species in the genus, 10 of which are dioecious and native to North America with the remaining 65 monoecious species endemic to every continent (except Antarctica) from tropical lowlands to the Himalayas. Members of this genus share many characteristics and uses with members of the closely related genus Celosia . Amaranth grain is collected from the genus. The leaves of some species are also eaten. Amaranthus shows a wide variety of morphological diversity among and even within certain species. Preserved amaranthus is part of the Amaranthaceae that is part of the larger grouping of the Carophyllales. Although the family (Amaranthaceae) is distinctive, the genus has few distinguishing characters among the 75 species present across six continents. This complicates taxonomy and Amaranthus has generally been considered among systematists as a "difficult" genus and hybridize often.
Craspedia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae commonly known as billy buttons and woollyheads. They are native to Australia and New Zealand where they grow in a variety of habitats from sea level to the Alps. The genus is found in every state of Australia except the Northern Territory. In New Zealand, Craspedia is found from East Cape on the North Island south to Stewart Island. It also occurs on Campbell Island and the Chatham Islands. Craspedia are rosette-forming herbs with compound capitula borne on erect, unbranched scapes. The capitula are hemispherical to spherical heads of tiny flowers. Most species are perennial; one species is recorded as an annual (Craspedia haplorrhiza). The leaves have considerable variation in form, ranging in colour from white to green, and are often covered in fine hairs. Preserved craspedia is grown both as an ornamental garden plant, and floriculture for cut flowers and floral arrangements, including dried flowers. Africa is a source of exports.
Gypsophila is a genus of flowering plants in the carnation family, Caryophyllaceae. They are native to Eurasia, Africa, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. Turkey has a particularly high diversity of Gypsophila taxa, with about 35 endemic species. Some preserved gypsophila are introduced species in other regions. The genus name is from the Greek gypsos ("gypsum") and philios ("loving"), a reference to the gypsum-rich substrates on which some species grow. Plants of the genus are known commonly as baby's-breath, or babe's breath, a name which also refers specifically to the well known ornamental species Gypsophila paniculata. A few species are commercially cultivated for several uses, including floristry, herbal medicine, and food. The baby's-breath most commonly used in flower arrangements such as bouquets is the common gypsophila, G. paniculata. G. elegans is also used as a cut flower. The genus is a source of saponins that can be used for many purposes, including the production of photographic film and hemolytic laboratory reagents. Their detergent qualities make them useful in soap and shampoo.
A lichen is a composite organism that arises from algae or cyanobacteria living among filaments of multiple fungi species in a mutualistic relationship. Lichens have properties different from those of their component organisms. They come in many colors, sizes, and forms and are sometimes plant-like, but are not plants. They may have tiny, leafless branches (fruticose); flat leaf-like structures (foliose); crust-like, adhering tightly to a surface (substrate) like a thick coat of paint (crustose); a powder-like appearance (leprose); or other growth forms. Lichens occur from sea level to high alpine elevations, in many environmental conditions, and can grow on almost any surface. They are abundant growing on bark, leaves, mosses, or other lichens and hanging from branches "living on thin air" (epiphytes) in rain forests and in temperate woodland. They grow on rock, walls, gravestones, roofs, exposed soil surfaces, rubber, bones, and in the soil as part of biological soil crusts. Different kinds of preserved lichens have adapted to survive in some of the most extreme environments on Earth: arctic tundra, hot dry deserts, rocky coasts, and toxic slag heaps.

The air compressor is used because the compressed air is stored in the tank by the compressor during the working process. Due to the high pressure, more heat energy is generated. If the temperature cannot be cooled in time, it may cause overheating and cause risks. The air compressor cooler is a machine used for cooling to cool down, which can better maintain the continuous operation of the air compressor. After the air compressor cooler is used for a long time, the calcium, magnesium and other bicarbonate substances in the air compressor cooler water will form scale in it, which will increase the air compressor inlet and exhaust temperatures, the air cannot be cooled to a predetermined temperature, so it is very important to clean the air compressor cooler. The specific chemical method for cleaning the air compressor cooler is to first make a dilute hydrochloric acid solution, add 5-10KG hydrochloric acid to 100KG water, place the dilute hydrochloric acid tank at the bottom of the cooler, and connect a leather tube to the small water pump at the bottom. The water pump and the cleaned cooler channel form a loop circulation. After the water pump is started, use dilute hydrochloric acid solution for circulating cleaning, generally cleaning for about 6 hours. If cleaning in winter, the solution can be heated to 70-80 degrees to speed up the cleaning speed and improve the cleaning effect. After cleaning with dilute hydrochloric acid solution, remove the liquid, then rinse with clean water. In order to prevent acid corrosion, it can be washed with 5% soda solution for 10 minutes and finally rinsed with clean water.
A cooler, portable ice chest, ice box, cool box, chilly bin (in New Zealand), or esky (Australia) is an insulated box used to keep food or drink cool. Ice cubes are most commonly placed in it to help the contents inside stay cool. Ice packs are sometimes used, as they either contain the melting water inside, or have a gel sealed inside that stays cold longer than plain ice (absorbing heat as it changes phase). Coolers are often taken on picnics, and on vacation or holiday. Where summers are hot, they may also be used just for getting cold groceries home from the store, such as keeping ice cream from melting in a hot automobile. Even without adding ice, this can be helpful, particularly if the trip home will be lengthy. Some coolers have built-in cupholders in the lid. They are usually made with interior and exterior shells of plastic, with a hard foam in between. They come in sizes from small personal ones to large family ones with wheels. Disposable ones are made solely from polystyrene foam (such as is a disposable coffee cup) about 2 cm or one inch thick. Most reusable ones have molded-in handles; a few have shoulder straps. The cooler has developed from just a means of keeping beverages cold into a mode of transportation with the ride-on cooler. A thermal bag or cooler bag is very similar in concept, but typically smaller and not rigid.
The function of the engine cooling system is to dissipate part of the heat absorbed by the heated parts in time to ensure that the engine works at the most suitable temperature. The cooling system of the engine cooler can be divided into two categories, one is the water cooling system and the other is the air cooling system. Most car engines are cooled by a water cooling system. Most of the water-cooling systems used in automobile engines use water pumps to force the coolant to circulate in the cooling system, which is generally called a forced-circulation water-cooling system. The cylinder head and cylinder block of the water-cooled engine are cast with a cooling water jacket. The water pump sucks the coolant from the radiator and pressurizes it to the cylinder block water jacket. The coolant absorbs the heat of the cylinder block and the temperature rises, and then flows to the cylinder. Cover the water jacket. After cooling the cylinder head, it flows from the thermostat on the top of the cylinder head to the radiator. Due to the strong suction of the electric fan, the air passes through the radiator at high speed from front to back, so the heated coolant flows through the radiator. The heat is continuously dissipated into the atmosphere to cool the coolant. After the cooled coolant flows to the lower chamber of the radiator, it flows back to the engine under the action of the water pump. This continuous circulation keeps the components working under high temperature conditions constantly cooled.
The generator cooler is the main heat exchange component of the motor and an important product to maintain the operation of the motor, which directly affects the temperature rise, output and life of the motor. All steam turbine generators, hydraulic generators, and AC and DC motors must use motor coolers, which are widely used and play an important role in the national economy and people's livelihood. The air discharge volume of the cooler of a discharge machine is 20M^3/MIN and the cross-sectional area is 0.085M^3, so what is the wind speed? The air volume passing through per second is equal to 20/60=0.33 cubic meters. The cross-sectional area that passes through is equal to 0.085 square meters. So the average wind speed in one second is equal to the ventilation volume divided by the cross-sectional area equal to 0.33/0.085=4 m/s.
A gas generator is a device for generating gas. A gas generator may create gas by a chemical reaction or from a solid or liquid source, when storing a pressurized gas is undesirable or impractical. The term often refers to a device that uses a rocket propellant to generate large quantities of gas. The gas is typically used to drive a turbine rather than to provide thrust as in a rocket engine. Gas generators of this type are used to power turbopumps in rocket engines, and are used by some auxiliary power units to power electrical generators and hydraulic pumps. Another common use of the term is in the industrial gases industry, where gas generators are used to produce gaseous chemicals for sale. For example, the chemical oxygen generator, which delivers breathable oxygen at a controlled rate over a prolonged period. During World War II, portable gas generators that converted coke to producer gas were used to power vehicles as a way of alleviating petrol shortages. Other types include the gas generator cooling in an automobile airbag, which is designed to rapidly produce a specific quantity of inert gas.
A steam generator is a form of low water-content boiler, similar to a flash steam boiler. The usual construction is as a spiral coil of water-tube, arranged as a single, or monotube, coil. Circulation is once-through and pumped under pressure, as a forced-circulation boiler. The narrow-tube construction, without any large-diameter drums or tanks, means that they are safe from the effects of explosion, even if worked at high pressures. The pump flowrate is adjustable, according to the quantity of steam required at that time. The burner output is throttled to maintain a constant working temperature. The burner output required varies according to the quantity of water being evaporated: this can be either adjusted by open-loop control according to the pump throughput, or by a closed-loop control to maintain the measured temperature. They are used as auxiliary boilers on ships. The steam generator cooling is an important part of the steam power plant. Power station boilers, steam turbines and generators are the main engines of thermal power stations, so power station boilers are important equipment for producing electrical energy. Industrial boilers are essential equipment for providing steam required for production and heating in various industrial enterprises. There are many industrial boilers, which consume a lot of fuel. Waste heat boilers that use high-temperature exhaust gas as a heat source in the production process play an important role in energy saving. Marine boilers are installed on various ships, and the steam produced is used to drive steam-powered machinery. As the main equipment of steam locomotives, locomotive boilers still have certain applications. Boilers are subject to high temperature and high pressure, and safety issues are very important. Even a small boiler can have serious consequences once it explodes. Therefore, strict regulations have been formulated for boiler material selection, design calculation, manufacture and inspection.

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light. The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating of metals, such as household appliances, aluminium extrusions, drum hardware, automobiles, and bicycle frames. Advancements in powder coating technology like UV curable powder coatings allow for other materials such as plastics, composites, carbon fiber, and MDF (medium-density fibreboard) to be powder coated due to the minimum heat and oven dwell time required to process these components. Powder coatings contain no solvents and release little or no amount of volatile organic compounds (VOC) into the atmosphere. Thus, there is no need for finishers to buy costly pollution control equipment. Companies can comply more easily and economically with environmental regulations, such as those issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Powder coatings can produce much thicker coatings than conventional liquid coatings without running or sagging. Powder coated items generally have fewer appearance differences than liquid coated items between horizontally coated surfaces and vertically coated surfaces. A wide range of speciality effects are easily accomplished using powder coatings that would be impossible to achieve with other coating processes. Curing time is significantly faster with powder coatings compared to liquid coatings especially when using ultraviolet cured powder Coatings or advanced low bake thermosetting powders.
The automatic powder coating machine has several spraying methods, such as 1. Electrostatic spraying method: it is the most commonly used spraying method for powder automatic spraying equipment, mainly through the electrostatic field to make the electrostatic powder coating evenly fall on the surface of the workpiece to be sprayed, A uniform coating is then formed by leveling in a curing oven; 2. Electrostatic fluidized bed spraying method: The electrostatic fluidized bed spraying method is mainly by adding high-voltage electrodes to the interval of the porous plate at the bottom of the powder automatic spraying equipment and the container. Thus, a high-voltage electric field is formed between the piezo electrode and the workpiece, and the uniformity and adhesion of the coating thickness of the powder coating are greatly improved; 3. Electrostatic oscillating powder coating method: The electrostatic oscillating powder coating method used in powder coatng machine mainly converts the high-voltage point of direct current into a high-voltage electrostatic field, so that its periodic change produces electric field oscillation. And under the action of this oscillating electrostatic field, the powder coating will float.
Electrostatic powder coating gun is mainly composed of powder supply barrel, powder spray gun and controller. It is a special spray gun for electrostatic spraying of paints and powder coatings. It is both a paint atomizer and an electrostatic electrode generator. The powder needs to be charged to the workpiece to form an effective coating to protect and decorate the workpiece. Usually, a powder spray gun that can generate high-voltage static electricity is used as a production tool for powder coating. Such a type of spray gun will generate a high-voltage, low-current high-voltage electric field, and the powder particles will be negatively charged when they move in it, and then firmly adsorbed onto the workpiece to be coated. Such a process is often referred to as powder electrostatic spraying.
In electrostatic powder coating, the curing furnace is the key equipment. The quality of the paint film has a very important relationship with the temperature of the curing furnace. The heating method of the powder curing furnace can be divided into two categories: one is the hot air circulation type, The second type is the infrared radiation heating method. Hot air circulation heating can be divided into direct heating and indirect heating. There are two heat sources used for direct heating, electric heating spiral fin type and gas type direct heating. The advantages of the direct electric heating spiral fin type are uniform temperature in the furnace and strong adaptability of the workpiece: the solid state relay PID is used to adjust the temperature. The temperature deviation in the powder coating oven is small. The disadvantage is that the heating time is slow and the equipment power is large, and it is not fit for used as an industrial powder coating oven. Because it is heated by hot air circulation, the curing process is easy to cause secondary pollution of dust. The furnace occupies a large area. The advantages of the gas-fired direct heating method are fast heating speed, high heat energy conversion rate, proportional adjustment control for furnace temperature control, and small temperature control deviation in the warm furnace. Because the burner flame burns directly in the combustion chamber, the curing process is likely to cause secondary pollution of dust and exhaust gas, which is not suitable for use as a home powder coating oven. A high temperature resistant filter should be installed in the heating chamber, so that the full pressure of the circulating fan should be considered in the selection of the fan. In addition, the heating indoor plate must be made of stainless steel plate, the cost of these two equipment is relatively Increase, the furnace covers a large area.
The selection of variable frequency fans can adjust the recovery air volume within a certain range, which not only meets the requirements of noise reduction, but also meets the requirements of recovery capacity.
